Local retired professional poker player and businessman Nelson Lober (Ocean City, MD) placed 1st at the Saturday $340 Buyin at the Borgata. Nels won $11,000 without a chop! Congratulations to Nelson!

Eastern Shore Poker League returns Monday, September 15th. Season 5 will be two 7 week halfs with the Championship played on Monday, December 22nd. Season 5 week 1 will be played on Pokerstars and is only a $11 weekly tournament. Earn points for every place. Top three each week cash and qualify for the championship. Here are the next local charity poker tournaments:
1)SATURDAY, September 6th. Willards Firehouse. $150 Buy-in. Now with $10,000 in tournament chips. Doors Open at 9AM, Tournament begins at 12 Noon.
2) MONDAY, September 8th. Salisbury VFW's Monday Night Poker! FORMAT CHANGE! $120 Buy-in with $100 towards the prize. $5,000 in tournament chips. Doors open at 6PM, tournament begins at 7PM.
3) TUESDAY NIGHT, September 9th. Super Satellite for the 2nd Choptank Poker Bazaar at the Sailwinds in Cambridge (to be held Saturday, September 13th). $40 Buy-in with $20 Rebuys. 1 Seat for every $150 in prize pool. Satellite begins at 7PM.
4) THURSDAY NIGHT, September 8th. Salisbury VFW. A 40 Buy-in with $20 Rebuys tournament paying 10% of the field. In addition, winners win an entry into the VFW's next FREEROLL. Doors open at 6PM, tournament begins at 7PM. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP
5) FRIDAY NIGHT, September 12th. Berlin American Legion. $75 Buy-in with rebuys. $5,000 in tournament chips. Rebuys 1st 3 levels. Must have less than $3,000 to rebuy. Doors open at 6PM, tournament starts at 7PM. Located across from Food Lion on Rt. 346.
6) SATURDAY, September 13th TWO EVENTS
1) 2nd Sailwinds Park Choptank Hold'em Bazaar. The event is expected to be a large attended player field. $150 Buy-in with $110 going towards the prize pool. $10,000 in tournament chips with 30 minute blinds and an extended blind structure. What that means is the blinds do not escalate as much. Doors Open at 10AM, tournament begins at 12 Noon. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP
2) Mardela Firehouse, $150 Buy-in with $120 towards the prize. Now with $10,000 in chips. Doors open at 9AM, tournament begins at 12 Noon.
